PR students support Advertising program's drive for Mountain Kidz Klub

Toys, Students and Faculty....oh my !

Students in the Public Relations Graduate Certificate Program are in a giving mood during the holiday season, extending a helping hand to students in the Advertising Program.

Led by students in the Advertising Program, students and faculty articipated in a Christmas Toy Collection for a local charity in need.  Each year, the Advertising students help an organization or local charity and this year it was the ‘Mountain Kidz Klub, a program that offers after-school activities for kids on the mountain.

This year’s public relations class, has been generous enough to help collect as many toys as possible through the help of fellow classmate, Margaret Lintott.  Margaret was able to purchase the gifts from her workplace, Giant Tiger. The public relations class did a fabulous job of contributing their money to help a great cause, and make children happy at this special time of the year. Board games, Canadian Tire money, dolls and hot wheels, were a few of the gifts collected from the PR program last week. An overall congratulations and thanks goes out to the PR program, as they have done a wonderful job in helping out another Mohawk College program, in there efforts of raising enough money or gifts for an important organization. The toy drive has been a great success so far and is still seeking as many donations as possible.

Any other toys or donations may still be donated to Mountain Kidz Klub at any time, and would be greatly appreciated by all.

With the help of Mohawk College’s Public Relations Program, ‘MKK’ is requesting that we collect 100 toys, priced at $15 maximum, for kids of all ages.

Mohawk’s Advertising Program has supported the ‘MKK’ this past year by volunteering at their Car Wash, a PumpkinFest event, and now preparing for the Dinner with Santa event. The organization also offers a Food Bank, a Clothing Bank, and even a weekend Soup Kitchen, with meals running at Thanksgiving and Christmas time for those in need.
