On Tuesday, December 7 and Wednesday, December 8, 2010, the Mohawk Public Relations Program will be taking Christmas Photos in support of the United Way of Hamilton & Burlington.
Through social media initiatives, students are inviting fellow schoolmates to come out to take part in the holiday fundraiser. To check out the Facebook page for the event, click here.
A photo booth will be set up outside of the McIntyre Theatre on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and at the "Ugly Christmas Sweater Pub" at the Arnie on Wednesday evening.
For only $2, students can get their photos taken with a festive background to support the United Way!
All proceeds will go to the United Way of Hamilton and Burlington... what better way to spread holiday cheer than to support a local cause that supports your community? In the last year alone, over 218,000 people in this region accessed one or more of the 137 United Way funded programs and services being delivered through 75 community agencies.
The United Way helps the Burlington and Hamilton communities by:
- Investing in a strategic combination of proven programs;
- Fundraising so donations are available to support programs and initiatives;
- Working with community partners to find long-term solutions to community issues;
- Providing leadership and support to the non-profit sector;
- Making it easy to get involved in the community
