INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC RELATIONS

Public relations are a major part of the society and are based on how you perceive your audiences and deliver what they need.  Depending on the culture of which part of the world you come from, the perceptions of people can vary. In my case, being an international student and having a bachelor’s degree in completely different stream, it becomes a challenge to understand the public’s perceptions of communication. This is where the role of Public Relations comes into consideration.

The style of educational delivery could vary from country to country. And therefore, it becomes important to understand what this program of Public Relations at Mohawk College can offer you.
Even having the common learning objective of Public Relations program throughout the world of how to relate and communicate with the public  it still becomes very important to understand the way of how people will perceive your message. Being an international student and having a different educational background, this program taught me on how important it is to find and relate to you audiences and communicate effectively with the media.

Throughout the first semester, this program makes you understand the importance of communicating with the media, as media is the main part of Public Relations. It shows you how important the organisations reputation is and how to manage that reputation positively even in case of a crisis.

This program presented me the importance of various aspects of communication and taught me the skills needed to understand the audiences and to write and deliver the message accordingly.
Being almost over with the first semester, these are some of the skills which were taught to us and which makes me curiously look forward for the next semester.
