First day at Mohawk College

While studying the PR program at Mohawk College, I have gained a deep understanding of public relations plans and strategies, effective communication, design techniques, crisis management, media relations, and media monitoring using Meltwater. This knowledge helps me understand the power of effective communication and equips me to be successful in any communications field I find myself in.

One of the most significant benefits of the course is its emphasis on effective communication and writing skills. I learned how to craft compelling messages that not only resonated with my target audience but also conveyed my message accurately.

Additionally, the course has taught me proficient ways of managing crises as a communicator. I have learned what to say, how to say it, and when to communicate during a crisis to help manage and reduce the negative impact the crises may have on an organization's image.

My ability to craft persuasive messages and speak confidently in public has grown exponentially. I have also been exposed to various platforms like Hootsuite and Meltwater which are very useful sites PR professionals must know how to use.
